Week 37: Dec 27th

OB checkup today, she is a little ahead growth wise. We have decided that we will induce sometime in Week 39 at the recommendation of the OB for 3 medical reasons. #1, I tested positive for Group Strep B (GSB), this is a vaginal infection that 25% of women have with no symptoms, but can be passed to the baby during delivery and can be fatal. I will have to be given IV antibiotics, and the doctor wants to make sure that we get a full 2 doses before a certain point in labor (which sometimes does not get achieved if the trip to the hops ital is rushed) 2. Since she is already a little ahead growth wise, doctor does not want her to get to big to be able to deliver vaginally. 3. inducing allows for better pain management since the whole process is monitored.

There are personal benefits too, in that I know exactly when to go to the hospital, which will help with my anxiety. We will get out induction date at next weeks doctor appointment.

Week 36

Crunch time at work, trying to get everything done before the holidays (and the IDT shutdown between Christmas and Jan 2). 12/22 is my last day in the office, I will work from home if possible after Jan 2 until TBD???

Christmas was good, parents came and brought the nephews as my brother was on call and could not leave the area. We had a good day, even though Connor had an upset stomache. I was so thankful that they came up for the day, as I have NEVER spent Christmas without my big family.

Week 35

2 week OB checkup, all is on track.

Met with a Rheumatologist to discuss my auto-immune test results. Since I am not symptomatic to the items outlined in the test results, other than the eye issue called uevieties (to which I still healing), he is not concered at this time. He wants to rerun the tests in March to factor out the pregnancy effect on the hormones and inflamation levels and to run a special chest xray, that can not be done while pregnant. This was a huge release as when my general practitioner gave me the test results they were a little scarry and the internet searching that I did made it worse. The indicator that I was positive for is very broad.

Week 32

We had a sweet Thanksgiving just the two of us (well three of us). Since I could not travel, we were unable to do the normal trip to the deer lease. We ordered a Thanksgiving Dinner from Cracker Barrel and George picked up some pies, so we had all the fare. We watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Put up the Christmas tree and minimal decoration (no outside lights this year), as what goes up must come down and with the baby coming after Christmas, we did not want to be those nieghbors in April with their lights still up.

Heartburn is totally under control now, what a releif.
